DAY 9--Monkey Love & Curiosity

Day 9 of Do Something New Everyday Challenge: Oct. 27, 2012

I was bored. Being bored is not an option for me, so I decided to change that. I texted some peeps to ask if they have any pills for boredom...they did suggest some, but I didn't get any prescription. So...I did what any girl would do when faced with boredom: RETAIL THERAPY!!!!

My wallet bit me...so I did my shopping at my #1 favorite store: DOLLAR STORE!!! I love shopping there because you can always find some cute, novelty toys/gadgets and things that you-don't-really-need-but-buy-cuz-it's-a-dollar. I had so much fun!

I found the little monkey on the floor and it was love at first sight. It had lopsided eyes like me! There were other monkeys with better glued-on-eyes on the rack, but I went home with the little guy instead. I also found the cutest caterpillar:
I also got some stickers for my students:

And a colander for my mom (hers were getting discolored):

Now, my trip won't be complete if I didn't get something to experiment. I have always wanted to try the magic towel. It is a little compact square of towel:

I also saw something VERY COOL: Snake Eggs...it is two magnets...and the packet says "singing magnets"...now, I have taken physics and I have been fooled many times before by dollars store's "cool toys" but like a dummy I still get SUPER excited and I can't help but buy them to satisfy my curiosity:

VERDICT
The towel was just very compactly folded...probably by a machine. It was coarse and not at all absorbent. As for the "snake eggs"...they're just two magnet pieces...they do not "sing" and even though the packet has a diagram of them in motion...they don't really spin...they're just magnets. I can use them on my fridge, but as for the towel...I have not found any use for it at all...I hope I satisfied your curiosity so that you don't have to go out and buy them for yourselves...what's that? You're not a dummy like me? yea....people like me exist so that people like you can appear smarter...

UPDATE: A friend sent me this youtube clip of a cute little monkey being a rascal to a baby tiger! soooo funny...
