Day 12-22 OF Do Something New Everyday Challenge. Oct. 30 to Nov. 9, 2012
YIKES!...I am in post debt...I haven't posted in over a week! Well, since October 29, 2012, I have done lots of new, but mundane things.
I tried new drinks (Tea's Tea's Half & Half apple green tea, kiwi strawberry snapple). Tea's Tea had to be the best bottled tea I ever had. It has the RIGHT amount of sweetness. I can't wait to try their other flavors. I also tried a new sandwich, tobacco quay which was just heated tuna sandwich.
I volunteered to be a team leader at a social game that took place at the after party of my friend Aung's wedding. Our team cheated. The game required a synchronized "attack" of another team without communicating beforehand which team to attack. so, I used the placement of my hair as a signal to indicate which team to attack. Boo. Evil me. I tried new classroom management tactics at work (I LOVE VELCRO).Something super embarrassing happened to me. I learned to beg a teacher. I made up a new tofu soup with spinach. I dissected Ascaris.
But out of all the new stuff I did the past week, the most important thing I did was vote.
I had registered as a Maryland voter. But I couldn't go home. Missed the absentee ballot application deadline. Luckily, I heard you could do same day registration. I scrambled to get my papers, ran over to School Without Walls, waited an hour during which time I met two nice guys who explained politics to me, and then voted right before the poll closed at 8pm. Honestly, I didn't know any of the people running for congress or any of the issues/amendments. But I am proud that I voted. Next time, I will do my research better, and vote intelligently. :)
